About Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach’s miles and miles of white beaches, year round comfortable near-perfect climate and variety of activities attract over 11 million visitors per year. Located in the northern part of Orange County, Huntington Beach is beautiful, relaxing and entertaining. The spacious wide beaches, consistent surf conditions and laid back attitude contributed to the town’s nickname “Surf City”. Although known for its surfing, many enjoy other sports such as beach volleyball, skateboarding and rollerblading. Others come just to lie in the warm sand and enjoy the sun – it rarely rains here so you are almost certain to find sunny clear blue skies. Huntington Beach is also home to many special events during the year, including the US Open of Surfing, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball, Van's World Championship of Skateboarding, musical events and more. Whether you come to participate or as a spectator, there are always activities to keep you entertained.

Huntington Beach has long received recognition as a prime vacation spot in the US. In 2004, HB was named the “Number One Family Surf Beach in the US” by well known beach expert “Dr. Beach” Leatherman. The New York Post also named Huntington “One of the Top Five Destinations for Teenagers and Their Parents”. The beaches amenities are easily accessed, with plenty of parking, restrooms, showers, concession stands, rental equipment, fire rings and lifeguard services. One of the largest recreational piers in the world is found at Huntington Beach, as are public parks, a 25-acre public equestrian center and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. A wide range of shopping, fine dining (from casual to formal) and accommodations are available. Located just 35 miles from Los Angeles, Huntington Beach is centrally and conveniently located to almost every other area major attraction in Southern California including Disneyland, Knott’s Theme Park and The Queen Mary.
